“Esteeming One Another.” (서로를 존중하며)

1. 읽을말씀 : 에베소서 5장 2절  (Ephesians 5:2, AMP)

“그리스도께서 너희를 사랑하신 것 같이 너희도 사랑 가운데서 행하라 그는 우리를 위하여 자신을 버리사

향기로운 제물과 희생제물로 하나님께 드리셨느니라”

“And walk / in love, / [esteeming and delighting / in one another] / [as Christ loved us / and gave Himself up / for us, / a slain offering and sacrifice / to God / [for you, / so that it became] a sweet fragrance].”

 

2. 제목 : “Esteeming One Another.” (서로를 존중하며)

We don’t often hear the word esteem used in our culture, but the Bible tells us to esteem and delight in one another. One definition of esteem is to hold in high regard. That means we are to honor and value one another. You may not always agree with everyone around you. They may not always act honorably, but we are to honor and esteem people because
they are valuable in the eyes of God.

우리 문화에서는 존중이라는 단어를 자주 듣지 못하지만, 성경은 우리에게 서로 존중하고 기뻐하라고 말합니다. 존중의 한 가지 정의는 높이 존경하는 것입니다. 즉, 서로를 존중하고 소중히 여겨야 한다는 뜻입니다. 당신은 주변의 모든 사람의 의견에 항상 동의하지 않을 수도 있습니다. 그들은 항상 명예롭게 행동하지 않을 수도 있지만, 우리는 사람들이 하나님 보시기에 귀중한 존재이기 때문에 존경하고 존중해야 합니다.

If you had a very costly and valuable piece of jewelry, you wouldn’t just wear it to the gym or leave it on the kitchen sink. No, you would treat it carefully. You would put it in a safe place and protect it. When we see others as valuable, the way God sees them; we treat them carefully as well. We should watch how we talk to other people. We should look for the good in others and honor them for who God made them to be. The Bible tells us that the way we treat others is like sowing seeds, and it will come back to us. Choose to esteem and delight in one another. Sow good seeds, and you will see a harvest of blessing in your own life in return!

매우 값비싸고 귀중한 보석이 있다면 체육관에 착용하거나 부엌 싱크대 위에 놓아두지는 않을 것입니다. 아니요, 조심스럽게 다루시면 됩니다. 안전한 곳에 두고 보호하시면 됩니다. 우리가 다른 사람들을 가치 있는 존재로 볼 때, 하나님께서 그들을 보시는 방식과 같습니다. 우리는 그들을 조심스럽게 대합니다. 우리는 다른 사람들과 어떻게 대화하는지 관찰해야 합니다. 우리는 다른 사람에게서 좋은 점을 찾고 하나님께서 창조하신 대로 그들을 존중해야 합니다. 성경은 우리가 다른 사람을 대하는 방식이 씨를 뿌리는 것과 같으며, 그 방식이 우리에게 돌아올 것이라고 알려 줍니다. 서로를 존중하고 기뻐하기로 선택하십시오. 좋은 씨앗을 뿌리십시오. 그러면 여러분의 삶에서도 그 보답으로 축복의 수확을 거두게 될 것입니다!

“Father in heaven, today I choose love. I choose to honor the people around me. Help me to see the value in others the way You see the value in me. Help my actions and words to esteem and delight in others so that I can be an example
of Your love and light in Jesus’ name. Amen. God Bless You!”
“하늘에 계신 아버지, 오늘 저는 사랑을 선택합니다. 나는 내 주변 사람들을 존중하기로 결정했습니다. 주님께서 제 안에 있는 가치를 보시는 것처럼 제가 다른 사람의 가치를 볼 수 있도록 도와주세요. 저의 행동과 말이 다른 사람들을 존중하고 기뻐할 수 있도록 도와주셔서 예수님의 이름으로 당신의 사랑과 빛의 모범이 될 수 있게 하소서. 아멘. 하나님의 축복이 있기를!"
