When We Praise 우리가 찬양할 때 [ Acts 16:25 - 16:34 ] - hymn 31 At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone's chains came loose. Acts 16:26 When nine-year-old Willie was abducted from his front yard in 2014, he sang his favorite gospel song Every Praise over and over again. During the three hour ordeal, Willie ignored the kidnapper’s repeated orders to keep silent as they drove around. Eventually, the kidnapper let Willie out of the car unharmed. Later, Willie described the encounter, saying that while he felt his fear give way to faith, the abductor seemed agitated by the song. Willie’s response to his dire situation is reminiscent of the experience shared by Paul and Silas. After being flogged and thrown into jail, they reacted by “praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose” (ACTS 16:25–26). Upon witnessing this awesome demonstration of power, the jailer believed in the God of Paul and Silas, and his entire household was baptized along with him (VV. 27–34). Through the avenue of praise, both physical and spiritual chains were broken that night. We may not always experience a visibly dramatic rescue like Paul and Silas, or like Willie. But we know that God responds to the praises of His people! When He moves, chains fall apart. REMI OYEDELE [ 사도행전 16:25 - 16:34 ] - 찬송가 31 장 이에 갑자기. 문이 곧 다 열리며 모든 사람의 매인 것이 다 벗어진지라 사도행전 16:26 2014년 아홉 살 난 윌리가 집 앞마당에서 유괴 당했을 때 아이는 ‘찬양해’라는 그가 가장 좋아하는 복음성가를 계속 불렀습니다. 세 시간 동안 차에 실려 돌아다니는 힘든 상황 속에서도 윌리는 입 다물라는 범인의 말에 아랑곳하지 않았습니다. 결국 범인은 윌리를 아무런 해도 입히지 않은 채로 차 밖으로 내보냈습니다. 훗날 윌리는 그 대치상황에 대해 설명하면서, 자기가 두려운 마음이 믿음으로 바뀌어가고 있는 동안 범인은 노래 소리에 마음이 흔들리는 것 같아 보였다고 말했습니다. 그 무서운 상황에서 보여준 윌리의 대처는 바울과 실라가 겪었던 일을 생각나게 합니다. 매를 맞고 투옥된 그들이 “기도하고 하나님을 찬송하자 다른 죄수들이 듣고 있었습니다. 그때 갑자기 큰 지진이 일어나 집터가 흔들리고 감방 문이 모두 열리며 죄수들을 묶은 쇠고랑이 다 풀어졌습니다”(사도행전 16:25-26, 현대인의 성경). 이 엄청난 능력이 나타난 것을 목격한 간수는 바울과 실라의 하나님을 믿고 자신의 가족 모두 함께 세례를 받았습니다(27-34 절). 찬양의 길을 통해 그날 밤 육체적인 사슬과 영적인 사슬 모두가 끊어진 것입니다. 우리는 바울과 실라나 윌리의 경우처럼 생생하고도 극적인 구출을 항상 경험하지는 못할 것입니다. 그러나 하나님은 그의 백성들의 찬양에 응답하신다는 것을 우리는 압니다! 그분이 움직이시면 사슬이 떨어져나갑니다.

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26. The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28. But Paul shouted, "Don't harm yourself! We are all here!" 29. The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30. He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31. They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved -- you and your household." 32. Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God -- he and his whole family. 바울과 실라의 찬양과 기도에서 어떤 교훈을 얻습니까? 이런 원리들을 어려운 상황에 어떻게 적용할 수 있을까요? “이스라엘의 찬송 중에 계시는 주여 주는 거룩하시니이다.” 시편 22:3 25. 한밤중에 바울과 실라가 기도하고 하나님을 찬송하매 죄수들이 듣더라 26. 이에 갑자기 큰 지진이 나서 옥터가 움직이고 문이 곧 다 열리며 모든 사람의 매인 것이 다 벗어진지라 27. 간수가 자다가 깨어 옥문들이 열린 것을 보고 죄수들이 도망한 줄 생각하고 칼을 빼어 자결하려 하거늘 28. 바울이 크게 소리 질러 이르되 네 몸을 상하지 말라 우리가 다 여기 있노라 하니 29. 간수가 등불을 달라고 하며 뛰어 들어가 무서워 떨며 바울과 실라 앞에 엎드리고 30. 그들을 데리고 나가 이르되 선생들이여 내가 어떻게 하여야 구원을 받으리이까 하거늘 31. 이르되 주 예수를 믿으라 그리하면 너와 네 집이 구원을 받으리라 하고 32. 주의 말씀을 그 사람과 그 집에 있는 모든 사람에게 전하더라 33. 그 밤 그 시각에 간수가 그들을 데려다가 그 맞은 자리를 씻어 주고 자기와 그 온 가족이 다 세례를 받은 후 34. 그들을 데리고 자기 집에 올라가서 음식을 차려 주고 그와 온 집안이 하나님을 믿으므로 크게 기뻐하니라
