Everyone Needs Compassion 모두에게 긍휼이 필요하다 [ Matthew 9:27 - 9:38 ] - hymn 395 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. MATTHEW 9:36 When Jeff was a new believer in Jesus and fresh out of college, he worked for a major oil company. In his role as a salesman, he traveled; and in his travels he heard people’s stories—many of them heartbreaking. He realized that what his customers most needed wasn’t oil, but compassion. They needed God. This led Jeff to attend seminary to learn more about the heart of God and eventually to become a pastor. Jeff’s compassion had its source in Jesus. In Matthew 9:27–33 we get a glimpse of Christ’s compassion in the miraculous healing of two blind men and one demonpossessed man. Throughout His earthly ministry, He went about preaching the gospel and healing “through all the towns and villages” (V. 35). Why? “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” (V. 36). The world today is still full of troubled and hurting people who need the Savior’s gentle care. Like a shepherd who leads, protects, and cares for his sheep, Jesus extends His compassion to all who come to Him (11:28). No matter where we are in life and what we’re experiencing, in Him we find a heart overflowing with tenderness and care. And when we’ve been a beneficiary of God’s loving compassion, we can’t help but want to extend it to others. When have you experienced God’s tender care? Who can you reach out to in compassion? Heavenly Father, we’re so grateful You had compassion on us! We would be lost without You. Help us to extend Your overflowing compassion to others. 27. As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!" 28. When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied. 29. Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you"; 30. and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, "See that no one knows about this." 31. But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region. 32. While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus. 33. And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel." 34. But the Pharisees said, "It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons." 35. Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." 하나님의 부드러운 손길을 언제 경험해보셨습니까? 누구에게 긍휼한 마음으로 다가갈 수 있을까요? 하나님 아버지, 우리를 불쌍히 여겨주셔서 정말 감사합니다! 하나님 없이는 길을 잃었을 것입니다. 하나님의 넘치는 긍휼을 다른 이들에게도 전하게 하소서. 27. 예수께서 거기에서 떠나가실새 두 맹인이 따라오며 소리 질러 이르되 다윗의 자손이여 우리를 불쌍히 여기소서 하더니 28. 예수께서 집에 들어가시매 맹인들이 그에게 나아오거늘 예수께서 이르시되 내가 능히 이 일 할 줄을 믿느냐 대답하되 주여 그러하오이다 하니 29. 이에 예수께서 그들의 눈을 만지시며 이르시되 너희 믿음대로 되라 하시니 30. 그 눈들이 밝아진지라 예수께서 엄히 경고하시되 삼가 아무에게도 알리지 말라 하셨으나 31. 그들이 나가서 예수의 소문을 그 온 땅에 퍼뜨리니라 32. 그들이 나갈 때에 귀신 들려 말 못하는 사람을 예수께 데려오니 33. 귀신이 쫓겨나고 말 못하는 사람이 말하거늘 무리가 놀랍게 여겨 이르되 이스라엘 가운데서 이런 일을 본 적이 없다 하되 34. 바리새인들은 이르되 그가 귀신의 왕을 의지하여 귀신을 쫓아낸다 하더라 35. 예수께서 모든 도시와 마을에 두루 다니사 그들의 회당에서 가르치시며 천국 복음을 전파하시며 모든 병과 모든 약한 것을 고치시니라 36. 무리를 보시고 불쌍히 여기시니 이는 그들이 목자 없는 양과 같이 고생하며 기진함이라 37. 이에 제자들에게 이르시되 추수할 것은 많되 일꾼이 적으니 38. 그러므로 추수하는 주인에게 청하여 추수할 일꾼들을 보내 주소서 하라 하시니라
