Never Too Late 주님은 결코 늦지 않으신다 [ Mark 5:35 - 5:43 ] - hymn 447 Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, "Don't be afraid; just believe." Mark 5:36 During the anxious moments that followed my mother­ in­law’s heart attack, she was fortunate to receive immediate medical care. Later, her doctor told me that treatment within fifteen minutes of a heart attack results in a survival rate of 33 percent for critical patients. But just 5 percent survive if treated beyond that time frame. On the way to heal Jairus’s desperately ill daughter (some­ one definitely needing immediate medical care), Jesus did the unthinkable: He paused (MARK 5:30). He stopped to identify who touched Him, and then spoke gently with the woman. You can imagine what Jairus was think­ ing: There’s no time for this, my daughter is dying! And then, his worst fears came true—Jesus appeared to have delayed too long and his daughter passed away (V.35). But Jesus turned to Jairus and offered a word of encouragement: “Don’t be afraid; just believe” (V.36). Then, calmly ignoring the mockery of onlookers, Christ spoke to Jairus’s daughter and she came back to life! He revealed that He can never be too late. Time can’t limit what He’s able to do and when He chooses to do it. How often do we feel like Jairus, thinking that God was simply too late to accomplish what we had hoped for. But with God, there’s no such thing. He’s never too late in fulfilling His good and merciful work in our lives. PETER CHIN [ 마가복음 5:35 - 5:43 ] - 찬송가 447 장 예수께서 그 하는 말을 곁에서 들으시고 회당장에게 이르시되 두려워하지 말고 믿기만 하라 하시고 마가복음 5:36 장모님께 심장마비가 와서 불안했지만 다행히 즉시 치료를 받을 수 있었습니다. 나중에 담당의사는 심장마비가 왔을 때 15분 이내에 치료를 받으면 중환자의 경우 생존율이 33퍼센트지만 그 시간을 넘기면 5퍼센트 밖에 되지 않는다고 말했습니다. 예수님이 중병에 걸린 야이로의 딸 (분명 응급치료가 필요한 사람)을 고치러 가던 중 상상도 못할 행동을 하셨습니다. 가시던 길을 잠시 멈추어 서신 것입니다 (마가복음 5:30). 주님은 멈추어 자기에게 손 댄 사람이 누구인지를 아시고는 그 여인에게 다정하게 말씀하셨습니다. 우리는 야이로가 이 때 무슨 생각을 하고 있었을지 그려볼 수 있습니다. ‘내 딸이 죽어가고 있는데 이럴 시간이 어디 있어!’ 그때 야이로에게 최악의 두려움이 현실이 되었습니다. 예수님이 너무 오래 지체하시는 바람에 야이로의 딸이 그만 죽어버린 것입니다(35절). 그러나 예수님은 야이로를 보시고 격려의 말씀을 하셨습니다. “두려워하지 말고 믿기만 하라”(36절). 그러신 다음 예수님은 구경꾼들의 야유를 태연하게 무시하시면서 야이로의 딸에게 말을 걸었습니다. 그러자 딸이 다시 살아났습니다! 주님은 자신이 결코 늦지 않는다는 사실을 보여주신 것입니다. 주님은 그분이 하실 수 있는 일을 하시려고 할 때 시간에 제약 받지 않으십니다. 우리도 야이로처럼 하나님께서 너무 늦어서 우리가 바라는 일을 이루지 못하시는 것이 아닌가 조바심할 때가 얼마나 많은지 모릅니다. 하지만 하나님께 그런 일은 절대로 없습니다. 하나님은 우리의 삶속에서 그분의 선하시고 자비로운 일을 이루시는데 결코 늦지 않으십니다.

How have you recently experienced the reality of God’s timing? Why is it vital for you to rest in God’s sovereignty—acknowledging that His plans are the best? Jesus, help me to remember that You’re sovereign even over time itself, and that You’re never too late to accomplish Your perfect plans. 35. While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? 36. As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. 37. And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. 38. And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. 39. And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. 40. And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. 41. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. 42. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. 43. And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat. 최근에 하나님의 시간을 실제로 체험해보신 적이 있습니까? 하나님의 계획이 최선임을 인정하면서 하나님의 주권 안에서 안식하는 것이 왜 중요할까요? 예수님, 주님은 시간까지도 주관하시며 주님의 완벽한 계획을 성취하시기에 결코 늦지 않으신다는 것을 기억하도록 도와주소서. 35. 아직 예수께서 말씀하실 때에 회당장의 집에서 사람들이 와서 회당장에게 이르되 당신의 딸이 죽었나이다 어찌하여 선생을 더 괴롭게 하나이까 36. 예수께서 그 하는 말을 곁에서 들으시고 회당장에게 이르시되 두려워하지 말고 믿기만 하라 하시고 37. 베드로와 야고보와 야고보의 형제 요한 외에 아무도 따라옴을 허락하지 아니하시고 38. 회당장의 집에 함께 가사 떠드는 것과 사람들이 울며 심히 통곡함을 보시고 39. 들어가서 그들에게 이르시되 너희가 어찌하여 떠들며 우느냐 이 아이가 죽은 것이 아니라 잔다 하시니 40. 그들이 비웃더라 예수께서 그들을 다 내보내신 후에 아이의 부모와 또 자기와 함께 한 자들을 데리시고 아이 있는 곳에 들어가사 41. 그 아이의 손을 잡고 이르시되 달리다굼 하시니 번역하면 곧 내가 네게 말하노니 소녀야 일어나라 하심이라 42. 소녀가 곧 일어나서 걸으니 나이가 열두 살이라 사람들이 곧 크게 놀라고 놀라거늘 43. 예수께서 이 일을 아무도 알지 못하게 하라고 그들을 많이 경계하시고 이에 소녀에게 먹을 것을 주라 하시니라
