1. 읽을말씀 : 마태복음 2장 11절 (Matthew 2:11, NIV)

“집에 들어가 아기와 그의 어머니 마리아가 함께 있는 것을 보고 엎드려 아기께 경배하고 보배합을 열어 황금과 유향과 몰약을 예물로 드리니라”

“And [when they had come / into the house], / they saw the young Child / [with Mary His mother], / and fell down / and worshiped Him. // And [when they had opened their treasures], / they presented gifts / to Him : gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

 

2. 제목 : “Choose the Right Gifts.” (올바른 선물들을 선택하세요)

Can you image how the wise men felt as they first looked upon our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! As part of their worship, they wanted to give Him gifts. They gave valuable presents to symbolize the love, honor and appreciation
in their hearts. In the same way, you show your love and appreciation to God with gifts of worship, and you can show your love and appreciate to others by the gifts you bring.

동방박사들이 우리의 주님이자 구세주 예수 그리스도를 처음 보았을 때 어떤 기분이었을지 상상해 보세요! 그들은 예배의 일환으로 그분께 선물을 드리고 싶어했습니다. 그들은 마음속의 사랑, 명예, 감사를 상징하는 귀중한 선물을 드렸습니다. 마찬가지로, 예배의 선물로 하나님께 대한 사랑과 감사를 표현하고, 여러분이 가져온 선물로 다른 사람들에게 사랑과 감사를 표현할 수 있습니다.

As you celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ during this holiday season, don’t just focus on the gifts you bring in the natural ; focus on gifts of love, kindness and encouragement. Go out of your way to show honor to others just like the wise men went out of their way to show honor to Jesus. When you walk in love and peace, that is the place of blessing.

이번 명절에 예수 그리스도의 탄생을 기념하면서, 자연적으로 가져온 선물에만 집중하지 말고, 사랑, 친절, 격려의 선물에 집중하세요. 동방박사들이 예수님께 경의를 표하기 위해 온 힘을 다했던 것처럼 다른 사람들에게 경의를 표하기 위해 온 힘을 다하세요. 여러분이 사랑과 평화 안에서 걸을 때, 그곳이 축복의 장소입니다.

“Father in heaven, today I set my mind and heart on You. Help me to choose the right gifts this holiday season — gifts of love, kindness and peace. Have Your way in my heart and let Your goodness shine through me in Jesus’ name! Amen. God Bless You!”
