Esteeming One Another” (서로를 존중하며)

“그리스도께서 너희를 사랑하신 것 같이 너희도 사랑 가운데서 행하라 그는 우리를 위하여 자신을 버리사 향기로운 제물과 희생제물로 하나님께 드리셨느니라”

 

“And walk / in love, / [esteeming(어스티밍,존중) and delighting(덜라이딩,기쁨) / in one another(원어나덜,서로] / [as Christ loved us / and gave Himself up / for us, / a slain(설레인,살해된) offering(아프링,제물,헌금) and sacrifice(새커럴파이스,희생,제사) / to God / [for you, / so that it became] a sweet fragrance(푸레이구렌스,향기].”

 

 

 

2. 제목 : “Esteeming One Another” (서로를 존중하며)

 

We don’t often hear the world esteem(어스팀,존중하다) very much in our culture, but the Bible tells us to esteem and delight in one another. One definition(데퍼네션,정의) of esteem is to hold in high regard(뤼갈드,-로생각하다,주시). That means we are to honor and value one another and hold them in high regard, even if (설사, 비록-할지라도)you don’t always agree with them.

우리는 우리 문화에서 세상이 매우 존중한다는 말을 잘 듣지 못하지만, 성경은 서로 존중하고 기뻐하라고 말합니다. 존중의 한 가지 정의는 높은 존중을 유지하는 것입니다. 이는 귀하가 항상 동의하지 않더라도 서로를 존중하고 소중히 여기며 존중해야 함을 의미합니다.

 

 

 

 

Sometimes people think, “That person doesn’t act honorably(명예롭게,예의바르게), so why should I honor(아널,존경,명예) them?” But the truth is, we are to honor and esteem people because they are valuable in the eyes of God. If you had a very costly(카설리,값비싼) and valuable piece of jewelry(주얼리,보석류), you wouldn’t just wear it to the gym(젬,체육관) or leave it on the kitchen(키천,부엌) sink(신키,싱크대). No, you would treat(투리트,대우하다,다루다) it carefully(케어펄리,주의하여,조심스럽게). You would put it in a safe place and protect(펄테크트,보호하다) it. It’s the same way with people.

때때로 사람들은 "그 사람은 예의 바르게 행동하지 않는데 내가 왜 존경해야 합니까?"라고 생각합니다. 그러나 진실은 사람들이 하나님 보시기에 가치 있기 때문에 우리가 존경하고 존중해야 한다는 것입니다. 매우 값비싸고 값진 보석이 있다면 체육관에 가거나 부엌 싱크대에 두지 않을 것입니다. 아니, 신중하게 처리할 것입니다. 당신은 그것을 안전한 장소에 놓고 그것을 보호할 것입니다. 사람도 마찬가지입니다.

 

 

 

 

When we see others as valuable the way God sees them, we treat them carefully. We speak respectfully(뤼스펙펄리,공손히,정중하게). We look for the good in others and honor them for who God made them to be. This holiday(할러데이) season, choose to esteem and delight in one another. Sow good seeds into your relationships and see a harvest of blessing in every area of your life!

하나님이 보시는 것처럼 다른 사람들을 가치 있는 존재로 볼 때 우리는 그들을 조심스럽게 대합니다. 우리는 정중하게 이야기합니다. 우리는 다른 사람들에게서 좋은 점을 찾고 하나님께서 그들을 만드신 사람을 존중합니다. 이번 휴가철, 서로를 존중하고 기뻐하십시오. 당신의 관계에 좋은 씨를 뿌리고 삶의 모든 영역에서 축복의 수확을 보십시오!

 

 

 

3. '오늘'을 위한 '기도' (Prayer for Today)

 

“Father in heaven, today I choose love. I choose to honor the people around me. Help me to see value in others. Help my actions and words to esteem and delight in them so that I can be an example of Your love and light in Jesus’ name. Amen. God Bless You!”

 

“하늘에 계신 아버지, 저는 오늘 사랑을 선택합니다. 나는 내 주변 사람들을 존중하기로 선택합니다. 다른 사람들의 가치를 볼 수 있도록 도와주세요. 제 행동과 말을 존중하고 기뻐하여 제가 예수님의 이름으로 당신의 사랑과 빛의 모범이 될 수 있도록 도와주소서. 아멘. 하나님의 축복이 있기를!”
